Shuji SUGIMOTO

Shuji SUGIMOTO

 Mr. Shuji SUGIMOTO is a graduate of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Kyoto University. After obtaining a master's degree in 1972 in the field of supersonic aerodynamics, he worked for KAWASAKI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, better known as KAWASAKI MOTORCYCLE CO., LTD. overseas, in the research & development division of gas turbine engines for four and a half years.

 He had worked for a patent firm in Osaka for twelve years where he gained experience in many patent cases related to electronics, television and video systems, gas turbines, motorcycles, etc. before NODA & SUGIMOTO was founded in 1989.

 Mr. SUGIMOTO was qualified in 1981 as a Patent Attorney. He is particularly concerned with patent procedures in foreign countries. He also visit foreign clients often. 


Takeo TSUTSUMI

Takeo TSUTSUMI

 Mr. Takeo TSUTSUMI is a graduate of the Department of Engineering Science at Kyoto University.  After obtaining a master's degree in 1982, he began his career as an engineer at SANYO ELECTRIC Co. Ltd.  After twelve years’ experience in the Control & Systems Research Center, he joined our firm as an engineer.  Since 1994 he has gained experience in many patent cases related to X-ray fluorescence analysis, motorcycles, bearings, etc.

 He passed the examination for Patent Attorney in fall, 1998.


Daisuke KANEKO

Daisuke KANEKO

 Mr. Daisuke KANEKO is a graduate of the Department of Material Science at Osaka University.  He began his career as an engineer in TORISHIMA PUMP MFG.  CO., LTD.  After nine years’ experience in the electric system division and one year in the plant engineering division, he joined our firm as an engineer.  Since 2006 he has had experience of many patent cases including motorcycles, engines, bearings, etc.  He passed the examination for Patent Attorney in 2007.  He is also qualified as a specific infringement lawsuit counsel.

Hiroki TANIGUCHI

Hiroki TANIGUCHI

 Mr. Hiroki TANIGUCHI is a graduate of the Department of Electric Engineering Science at Kyoto University.  After obtaining a master's degree in 1996, he started his career at SANYO ELECTRIC Co., Ltd.  After eight years’ experience as an engineer at the Research and Development Department, he transferred to the Intellectual Property Department and passed the examination for Patent Attorney in 2006.  Experiencing many patent cases including mechatronics, digital broad casting and receiving technology, image processing, and LiB battery control, etc. at SANYO ELECTRIC Co., Ltd., Panasonic Corporation and a patent firm in Osaka for nine years, he joined our firm in 2013.

 Mr. Taniguchi attended a two-week summer seminar on US patent procedures held in a US patent firm in 2007.

Shinji NAKAO

Shinji NAKAO

 Mr. Shinji NAKAO is a graduate of the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering at Osaka University.  After obtaining a master's degree in the field of polymer synthesis, he worked for Nitto Boseki Co., Ltd. in the research & development divisions of textile for one year and glass fiber for two years, and in the technical development division of glass fiber for two years.  He joined our firm as an engineer.  Since 2015 he has experienced in many patent cases related to compounds, compositions, fiber materials, film materials, composites, etc.  He passed the examination for Patent Attorney in 2017, and was also qualified in 2020 as a specific infringement lawsuit counsel.

Takashi SASANUMA

Takashi SASANUMA

 Mr. Takashi SASANUMA obtained his master degree from Kyoto University where he majored in physics, especially radiation and nuclear science.  He worked for over ten years in a bearing manufacturing company, in the research & development department of computer-aided engineering, and in the intellectual property department.

 He qualified as a Patent Attorney in 2018. 


Aki KOGO

Aki KOGO

 Ms. Aki KOGO has a background in environmental science and drinking water treatment.  She joined NODA & SUGIMOTO in 2016 as a translator.  She qualified as a Patent Attorney in 2021 and also qualified as a specific infringement lawsuit counsel.  Since 2021 she has experience in many patent cases in the field of renewable energy, hydrogen fuel, bearings, etc.  

 She graduated in Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences from the University of Arkansas and obtained an MASc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto.


Keiji SUGIMOTO

 Mr. Keiji SUGIMOTO is a graduate of the Department of Material Engineering at Osaka Prefecture University.  After obtaining a master's degree in the field of Materials Chemistry, he worked for Tsubakimoto Chain Co., LTD. in the manufacturing engineering department for nine years.  He joined our firm as an engineer.  Since 2021 he has experienced in many patent cases including motorcycles, engines, bearings and etc.  He passed the examination for Patent Attorney in 2022. 

Akio OTOMO

Akio OTOMO

 Mr. Akio OTOMO is a graduate of the Department of Electric Engineering at Muroran Institute of Technology.  After working for Takachiho Trading Co. Ltd. as a technical support staff, he began his career in the field of intellectual property at a patent firm in Osaka.  He joined our firm in 1993 and experienced many patent cases related to security sensors, electric power units, transformers, and polymer products as well as in litigation of patent infringement.  He passed the examination for Patent Attorney in 2009.

Takashi FUJITA

Takashi FUJITA

 Dr. Takashi FUJITA is a graduate of the Department of Geology and Mineralogy at graduate school of Kyoto University.  After obtaining Ph.D. in 1993 in the field of Electron Microscopy of silicate minerals, he worked for Kyoto University, Okayama University, AIST, and NIMS as a post doctoral fellow for about 10 years.  He is expertized in instrumental analysis (electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, etc.) and has a national qualification of radiation protection supervisor.  

 Before joining our firm in 2013, he had worked for a patent firm in Tokyo for seven years where he gained experience in many overseas patent cases related to semiconductor technology, metallurgy, optics, etc.
